A QUIET REVOLUTION:
THE DIVINE PLAN FOR HOMESCHOOLING

Delivered April 23, 2004

Over the past month the Lord has been dealing with me on the true nature of homeschooling. It is a revolution. It is a revolt. We homeschool mothers are revolutionaries and we don't even know it. Some of us think we just somehow got dissatisfied with working and wanted to homeschool. This is not so. The Holy Ghost is calling women home one-by-one in this quiet revolution. There is no gunfire, just a quiet succession from the world's educational system.

Given that this is the case, it is time for us to start asking some questions. Like, EXACTLY WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO ME TO DO NOW THAT I AM AT HOME? Not, What do **I** think I should do?" But, "What does GOD want me to do?" Because we have not asked the proper questions, our homeschooling efforts oftentimes come up short and we feel that we are running at a deficit.

Over this past month, the Lord has been truly ministering to me about the purpose of homeschooling. He has shown me that the Bible is not just one class of many. It is THE CLASS. THE BIBLE IS THE CURRICULUM--everything else is auxillary. We are so busy chasing down curriculums, sports events, music practice, hobbies, and church ministry that we are missing the whole reason God Almighty brought us home. Let's look at Malachi 2:14-15--

Malachi 2:14 ...the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. Malachi 2:15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? that he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

God is looking for a godly seed devoted to HIS glory and honour. A godly seed employed in HIS service. THAT is why we homeschool. God wants my child GODLY and what God wants is what I am going to give him. THAT is my work. I am not homeschooling my daughter for her to be a productive citizen in this world, though she will be. I am not homeschooling her for a good future. I am homeschooling because God is looking for a godly seed. Our thinking is man-centered instead of God centered. I may say I want my child saved and that's why I homeschool. I do want her saved, but the reason that I homeschool is BECAUSE GOD SAID HE WANTS A GODLY SEED. The result is that my daughter is blessed which is wonderful, I love my child. But the goal is not her happiness, the goal is pleasing God. We have to get away from this pagan thinking which is child or man-centered. The Bible command to teach your children is God-centered. GOD wants a godly seed. In Deuteronomy 6, God told us exactly how to homeschool, but the true revelation of that has not sunk down for many of us. I am just now getting it.

Let's look at Deuteronomy 6:4-9--

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6 And THESE WORDS, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7 AND THOU SHALT TEACH THEM DILIGENTLY UNTO THY CHILDREN, AND shalt TALK OF THEM

WHEN THOU SITTEST in thine house, and
WHEN THOU WALKEST by the way, and
WHEN THOU LIEST DOWN, and
WHEN THOU RISEST UP.

8 And THOU SHALT BIND THEM for a sign upon thine hand, and THEY SHALL BE AS FRONTLETS BETWEEN THINE EYES.

9 And THOU SHALT WRITE THEM UPON THE POSTS OF THY HOUSE, AND ON THY GATES.

We see here in Deuteronomy 6 that THE BIBLE IS THE CURRICULUM for the God-ordained school. The focus of our efforts is not to be the three Rs (though it is good to study them). Many of us are subject- or curriculum-centered. This is also pagan. The focus is not even my child having a good education. The focus is the word of God. THE BIBLE IS THE CURRICULUM. It is not just one class of many. I was getting frustrated with my homeschooling at one point so I stopped and waited for God. Since he has revealed this information to me, the piano lessons have resumed, the math is getting done as are the reading and phonics. But now I know of a truth that those are just auxillary helps in teaching my daughter the word of God. Seek the kingdom of God first, and all these other things (reading, writing, and arithmetic) will be ADDED unto you. They are only additions, not the meat and reason we homeschool.

Our anxieties and failures in homeschooling come as a result of building on a false premise. Some of us may have thought, "I have to teach my children enough so that the state doesn't take my child." It's no wonder we're failing. We don't know what we are doing. Somebody else may say, "I want my child to be able to get a good job." That's wrong too. But we think our schooling is Christian because we do a daily devotion and put a Bible verse on the class. The correct answer is, "I'm homeschooling because God Almighty is looking for a godly seed and it is my business to please him and glorify him." God shows up in that type of talk. He'll put all the supplementary materials (reading, writing, and arithmetic) right in your hands when you get that type of understanding.

Tomorrow I am going to what they call the Curriculum Fair. But it is not a curriculum fair for me. I already have the curriculum--the Authorized King James Version of the Bible right here in my hands. The Bible is an old curriculum. It is thousands of years old. Jeremiah 16:6 says ask the Lord for the old paths and ye shall find rest for your souls. Are you restless today? Then go back to the word. Are your children wordly? Then go back to the holy scriptures. And when you go back to the word, get rid of everything that this holy curriculum does not like. I guarantee you, you will get rest.

We have to learn how to pluck up, pull down, destroy, root out, and tear down all ungodliness and worldliness in our lives and homes. We have to get rid of pagan, humanistic, man-centered thinking. We need to do some inventory and clear out everything that is not from God. And then when we have done that, God will teach us how to build and plant his truth in our hearts and lives. Because then he will have the pre-eminence. You see he will not give his glory nor his praise to graven images and things of man's device. So we have to get rid of what he dislikes. Then he will begin to work in our lives in powerful ways.

For many of us, because the separation from the world is not complete, paganism is still lodging in the high places of our minds. We still have pagan thoughts because we've yielded ourselves to paganism in one form or another--tv, books, radio, etc. For others of us, we are still having our minds renewed and we're learning the kingdom of God ways. Whatever the case, God is calling us out from among this world TO BE SEPARATE. He said, "Touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you." When we separate from the world, God will us divine revelation concerning our homeschooling and all things. Areas that are not working, he will show us how to fix them. But we must start cooperating with what he wants to do AND let go of the world. All the gameboy, video games, arcades, amusement parks, movies, Dallas Cowboys, etc. are keeping children and parents attached to this world. Pagans/heathens create these things to waste time and to dumb down America. Dumb, docile people are easily controlled. All you have to do is give them some entertainments and they won't cause you any trouble. Christians that maintain attachment to the world make the devil happy because they are neutered. They don't bring forth the type of fruit that God wants to bring forth from them.

The beast is coming and if our children do not have the word abiding in them, they will be deceived and so will we. The message of Deuteronomy 6 is to let the word abide, dwell, live, regulate, and permeate your whole life and course of study as you homeschool. Anything less than this has pagan roots because if God's will is not your firm, set purpose, it means that you are studying a course for the child's good. Let God evict all the pagan thought forms out of us.

We've come home. But have we met the intent for which God brought us home? Do we see divine and powerful results? If not, this can change if you are willing to let God be the center of your life as you forsake this world.

The devil's agents in this world are very concerned about homeschooling. When they were able to usurp full power over the educational system and the government, they thought they had this whole generation ready for brainwashing. But they didn't know God was going to raise up the homeschooling movement. They are exceeding angry about this. On our side, we've come home, but we've brought with us the pagan, man-centered thinking that we've always had. That's why our homeschooling can be so wearisome and ineffective. And our children are not as spiritual as they could be. It is easy to waste money going from curriculum to curriculum. But this was not God's plan for homeschooling. Some people have tried many curriculums and their children still cannot read. Many of us are frustrated and tired. Some just give up and when their children go back to public school they are way behind. This is not God's plan.

God called us out and this plan for homeschooling is his. We must learn to ask him, "Why did you call me out?" And, "What do you want me to do with these children?" And then he will respond to us that he wants us to glorify him and his Word and that he wants us to teach our children to glorify him and his Word. When we really get this, then our Red Sea will miraculously open up for our homeschooling and we will walk through on dry land. Our children will grow up to be mighty oaks of Bashan. They will be like the 300 foot giant Redwoods towering over this generation in godliness and piety. All the while giving praise, honour, glory, and majesty to the God that made them like that FOR HIS GLORY.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
